Portrait Session - What to Expect

What happens in a portrait session?

1. Initial Consultation

First and foremost, I listen to your needs, ideas, and requirements and together the creative process begins! We will discuss possible locations (your home, another location, or our studio – the choice is yours), what to wear, and any specific images you would like us to create so that we can discover EXACTLY what you want and need. You can view, touch and feel the portrait and album samples in our studio while you enjoy a cuppa.

2. Portrait Session

Sessions can last anywhere from one to three hours. Never rushed, always fun, we let your children set the pace. A baby portrait session will always be structured to fit in around your baby’s sleep and feeding needs - your baby is the boss here! We would be wasting everyone’s time trying to photograph a hungry, irritable baby who has been slotted into an appointment time that suits the photographer and NOT the baby.

3. Viewing and Ordering Session

Approximately two weeks after your portrait session, we'll reconvene to view your portraits together. This is when you and your family can sit back, relax and be treated to a projected slideshow from your portrait session. Afterwards we can narrow down the photos to select your favourites. I will help you decide on the best format, size, and finish for your favourite images. Final portraits will be delivered 3-10 weeks after your ordering session.
